Let’s get FESTIVE!

Writing / Tuesday, December 8th, 2020

It’s time to get festive because it’s time for Susanna Hill’s 10th Annual Holiday Writing Contest!

The rules were simple (or so they claim!):

In 250 words or less, write a children’s holiday story (children here defined as age 12 and under) about a Holiday Helper

So let’s travel back in time to meet the first holiday helper…

THE SONG OF THE STABLE MOUSE

(Sorry guys, I’ve removed the story in hopes of getting it published someday. Get ahold of me if you would like to read it!)

  1. I love this, Deborah! We always presume that Jesus was an angel at birth, but every mother knows that all babies cry. So glad that the tiny mouse knew what to do!

  2. This story is so wonderful, Deborah! I love that the little mouse came up with a perfect lullaby for Baby Jesus and the donkey telling a joke was hilarious! Best of luck in the contest!

  3. What a cute story! I love the donkey who tells jokes. Even the sweetest newborn cries, so your sweet singing mouse is truly a hero. You did a fabulous job, congratulations!!
